A dance movement dedicated to changing the lives of impoverished women and children across the world.
Back home, our mission here will be to educate our privileged children here in the Western Hemisphere about the importance of giving and of being of service to others.
Our values consist of a passion for making a difference in this world, the desire to share of the gift and blessings of dance, the deep belief that dance can free us from prejudices regardless of gender, race, sexual orientation or religion and more importantly the longing for a more compassionate world.
Through dance and education, we can change the world.
Soul Dancers is a charitable dance movement to nourish the body, inspire the mind and empower the souls of impoverished women and children.
Our mission is to provide an after school program for impoverished children consisting of a nourishing meal, 30 minutes of basic English language training and 1 hour of fun, instructional dance. We want to share the gift of creative dance while bringing joy and hope to the most vulnerable children of the world.
We aim to employ vulnerable women to run the programs thus providing life skills to enable independence and self-sustenance.
Medellin, Colombia
Although Soul Dancers has no religious affiliations, over 50 teenage girls are being protected, educated and cared for by these Sisters of the Catholic Church. The stories of abuse that these girls have endured should be told but for their own protection and care, will not. Soul Dancers has been providing 2-hour dance lessons every Sunday since October 2015. An additional class will commence in February 2016.

"Strut N' Strive was created to give these young women ages 5-18 a safe haven. It was an escape from the temptations that are around them. They practice 4 days a week and attend competitions. In our community, the neighborhood girls are known for "twerking and gyrating". We train our dancers in Ballet, Majorette, Hip-Hop and jazz. We are now teaching our classes in a local Junior High school because it is more spacious because we do not have the funds for a studio."
Honduras
Honduras in Central America is a country that is strife with violence and poverty. Over 70% of households are run by single mothers with little opportunity and hope. Soul Dancers has been providing 2-hour dance lessons every Sunday since September of 2015 but much more is needed. Healthy meals and education are crucial in providing these women and children with the hope of better tomorrow.

Hill Dance Company was established in early 2014. It started out as just a thought, never did I think this dream would become a reality. It wasn't until I met two little girls, (ages 8 & 11) refugees from Eritrea that I knew I had to make this work. They wanted to dance so badly, and they had the flexibility and strength to do so. Due to their financial situation and the language barriers that came along with being a refugee, they were not able to.

Improve the rhythms I know. Develop more flexibility in my body. Approach this grade to grow in a proffesional level into the dance.
My expectations are to keep getting more knowledge and to learn a lot to become an excellent dancer. I truly love it.
